Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church
Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026 · holytrinity-church.com
Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church respects your privacy. This policy describes the limited information we collect when you visit our website, which services process that information, and the choices available to you. We collect only what is necessary to operate our site, respond to your inquiries, and protect against spam and security threats.
Contact & prayer request forms
Our website uses Forminator to power contact, prayer request, and event inquiry forms. When you submit a form, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, and message. This data is stored in our website database and delivered by email to the relevant parish staff member. We do not share your submissions with third parties except as necessary to respond to you, or as described in the backup and security sections below.
We retain form submissions only as long as needed to address your inquiry, after which they are deleted. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Spam filtering
All form submissions are screened by Akismet (operated by Automattic, Inc.) to filter spam. When a form is submitted, Akismet receives the submitted content along with metadata including your IP address and browser user-agent string. This information is processed on Automattic’s servers and may be retained by them in accordance with their own privacy policy. Akismet does not use this data for advertising.
Forms are also protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a CAPTCHA alternative that verifies you are human without tracking cookies. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser signals during the challenge. No persistent identifiers are stored on your device by Turnstile.
Security monitoring
We use Wordfence Security (by Defiant, Inc.) to protect our website from malware, intrusion attempts, and malicious traffic. Wordfence logs visitor IP addresses, page requests, and request metadata on our server for up to 30 days. In the case of a detected threat, this data may be shared with Defiant’s threat intelligence network to protect other sites. Wordfence does not use visitor data for advertising or profiling.
Cookie consent
We use WPConsent to record your cookie preferences. When you interact with our consent banner, your choice is stored in your browser so it is remembered on future visits. No consent data is transmitted to external servers.
Our website uses only functional cookies necessary for operation (such as WordPress session tokens). We do not use advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking cookies.
Backups
Our site is backed up regularly using UpdraftPlus and Backup Migration. Backups include the full website database, which contains any form submissions stored at the time of the backup. Backup files are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage accessible only to authorized church administrators. They are not shared with third parties and are cycled on a rolling schedule.
